If you’re into manifesting, chances are you’ve come across the Law of Attraction.
The Law of Attraction is often described as a universal law in which you attract what you focus on. What you think about, believe and feel is what will manifest into your life.
For instance, if you have the belief that bad things always happen to you, then that is what you will experience. On the other hand, if you believe good things often happen in your life, then that will be your experience.
This is often why someone who wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, angry and annoyed, will have such a miserable day. They are bringing that energy and momentum with them as they go throughout their daily tasks. Oftentimes, everything just seems to go wrong for them.
This isn’t a coincidence. This is the Law of Attraction.
“The law of attraction says that like attracts like, and when you think and feel what you want to attract on the inside, the law will use people, circumstances and events to magnetize what you want.”
Rhonda Bryne
What is the Law of Attraction?
The Law of Attraction isn’t positive or negative. It’s a neutral tool. Much like a mirror, it reflects back to you what you show it. If you send out positive, uplifting vibrations, the universe will return that in the form of people, places and things.
You might experience sudden happy surprises and ‘good luck’ out of nowhere. This isn’t really luck; these are your positive vibrations coming back to you. Much like karma, what you give out is what you receive.
Unfortunately, many people aren’t aware of this law and feed negativity out into the world. A lot of people adopt the victim mentality, the belief that “Oh, I’m so pitiful, everything bad happens to me” and because they are constantly affirming and believing that, that is what they experience.
Of course, they can always change this belief whenever they want, but not everyone is aware of this.
It’s important to note that although many people don’t know about the Law of Attraction and manifestation, this doesn’t mean it isn’t working. Whether you are aware of the Law of Attraction or not, it is always working.
Even those who are unaware are constantly manifesting things and situations into their reality. The difference between those who learn and study the Law of Attraction and those who don’t is that those who utilize the Law of Attraction get a better chance at manifesting their desired reality because they know how manifestation works.
Why doesn’t the law of attraction work for everyone?
If you’re interested in the law of attraction or have studied it before, chances are you’ve come across some articles or videos which ‘debunk’ the idea of manifestation. They point out everything wrong with it and how it doesn’t work at all.
It’s true that for some people the Law of Attraction doesn’t seem to work, but why is that?
There are a couple reasons this may happen. It could be that it wasn’t time for their manifestations, they gave up too early, or, the most common problem, because of limiting beliefs.
What are limiting beliefs?
Limiting beliefs are beliefs which block out your manifestations. It may sound strange; after all, if you desire something so much, why would you block them out?
There are a lot of different reasons. If you have doubts about manifestation, it may be difficult to manifest what you want because in the back of your mind you already believe that, either, it isn’t going to work or it will take a lot of time and effort.
If this is your belief, then the universe will respond to this and deliver what you believe is true, often in the form of challenges and blockages.
This should give you an idea of how powerful your thoughts and beliefs are. They can quite literally change and shape your life.
The good thing is that you can always change your beliefs. It may be difficult at first, especially if it’s a belief you’ve had for a long time, but once you evaluate your limiting beliefs, you are one step closer to changing them into more positive thought patterns.
You always have a choice. But a lot of people are afraid of choices. This sounds strange, but it goes a bit like this:
Many people grow up believing that they are set on one path of life. Many adopt the victim mentality because it’s easy. This way they don’t have to take responsibility for their choices. Being a victim means self-pity and attention from others. But it also means giving away your power.
You are so much more powerful than you think
You are so powerful. I’m not talking about physical strength or the power to influence others, I’m talking about the power to manifest anything you want into your life.
You have infinite power because you are a part of the infinite universe. This higher power can be referred to different things, the universe, your higher self, source, etc. it doesn’t really matter what name you give it as long as you view it in a space of infinite abundance and love.
If you operate from this space of pure love and joy, it becomes very easy to manifest what you want because you are in alignment with the universe.
Now, if we have so much power in our lives, why don’t we use it?
Some people are just not aware of their power or their ability to manifest. Others are aware but they are afraid of their own abilities.
One of the reasons they may be afraid is because when someone has been playing small their whole life the thought of taking control and responsibility can be scary.
Showing yourself out into the world can be terrifying, so some people prefer to give their power away rather than use it to change their lives.
What are the limits to manifestation?
There really are no limits at all! That’s the best thing about it. Anything you desire can be a reality for you.
This may sound odd or difficult to believe because as humans, we’ve been raised to have limitations, but our true selves, the part of ourselves that is a part of the infinite universe, often called the higher self, is limitless and can achieve quite literally anything.
You can manifest something if you truly believe you can. This isn’t wishful thinking; this is the Law of Attraction. Everything has energy, including your desires. This means that if you align yourself with the vibrations of your desires, then they begin to become attracted to you and appear in your life.
This is the basics of the Law of Attraction. Hopefully by now you’re beginning to realize just how life changing the Law of Attraction is, but now that you understand it, then comes the question, how do you use it?
How to use the Law of Attraction

To use the Law of Attraction is very simple, the only thing that can make it difficult or challenging is our limiting beliefs. Thankfully, we can shift these beliefs and enter a space of ease and alignment with the universe, but this change can take time.
Many people use a variety of tools to help them overcome the initial struggle of manifesting and make it more ‘believable’ for their analytical mind, such as the use of manifestation methods.
There are hundreds of manifestation methods and tools you can use so it’s important to find the ones that work for you.
It’s also important to note that you don’t necessarily need to use any methods to manifest, but they can be wonderful in helping to accelerate your manifestations and overcome any limiting beliefs you may have.
The basics of manifesting a desire
There are 4 steps when it comes to consciously manifesting what you want. Regardless of whether you use any methods, visualize or affirm, this process must happen in order to consciously manifest something into your life.
Step One
- Set the intention. Recognize what you would like to manifest. You can’t manifest something that you aren’t aware of. Go within, what do you really want? Make sure this desire is something that comes from your heart and soul, rather than something you believe you should have because of society or outside influences. This is the easiest part of the whole process; you can simply state in your head what you would like to manifest or write it down. The moment you set an intention; the manifestation process begins.
Step Two
- Give it momentum. Once you set your intention, it’s important to give your desires energy. This can be done by visualizing, affirming or by simply focusing on your manifestations with positive intention.

Step Three
- Let it go. This is a simple step, but it’s not always easy. Manifestation is a partnership between you and the universe which means that while the first two steps are you doing your part, the third step is allowing the universe to do its part. You let go of your desires by trusting in the universe to deliver them. Much like ordering something online, you place the order and then you let go of it. Sometimes you forget about it, other times you don’t, but you don’t stress about it because you know that it’s going to be delivered to you, and it’s only a matter of time.
Step Four
- Receive. This is the last step. It sounds simple but oftentimes people can create blockages which stop their manifestations from coming to them. They worry or stress or don’t believe themselves worthy of their desires, and they end up unintentionally blocking their manifestations. Try your best not to stress, struggle or worry. Go into a place of flow and ease and do something to relax. When you are in the flow of life, your manifestations come to you quicker and more easily because there is no resistance keeping them away.
In the end, manifesting with the Law of Attraction, in the simplest way, is to intend, release, trust and receive.
If you’re a complete beginner and this is your first-time hearing about this, it may seem strange or overwhelming.
At first, your manifestations might be difficult to obtain if you have a lot of mental clutter or resistance, but don’t worry! Just like every other skill, manifesting takes practice, and the more you practice the better you’ll become at it.
Clear your mind, set your intentions, trust the universe and don’t worry about the ‘how’. That’s not your job. Enjoy life as though you already had all your desires and it won’t be long before they manifest into your physical reality. It’s not magic, it’s the Law of Attraction.
