Morning is one of the best times to engage in positive practices in order to start your day in an uplifting way. The good energy obtained from simple morning practices can be carried into the rest of your day, positively affecting you as you go about your daily tasks.

These morning practices can be quick and simple, only taking up a few minuets of your morning. But don’t be fooled! Even short practices can lead to lasting positivity.

Meditation

Meditation is a great way to start your day on a positive note. Not only does it calm your mind and body, but it can help you to be more present and aware of all the good things in your life.

Many people begin to think of their problems and difficulties as soon as they wake up, putting themselves in a negative space. This can often cause feelings of worry and anxiety which they can continue to carry throughout their day. By meditating in the morning, even for just a short amount of time, you can get more in touch with your higher self, which is filled with boundless love and positivity.

When you are able to connect with this joyous center, you are able to carry this sense of positivity throughout your day.

Morning Yoga Flow

Yoga is a great practice to start your day. Not only does it work your body, but it also helps you to be more aware of your mind and the thoughts flowing through it. When you become more aware of your body and mind, you are able to gently bring them into balance, helping you to feel more grounded and aligned. This awareness can lead to becoming more aware of the joy and positive things which already exists in your life.

Moving first thing in the morning can also help you to feel more energized and ready to tackle the day ahead. When challenges come your way, you may find yourself feeling more encouraged to take them on. This can be a positive tool as you go about your day, helping you to face any problems which might arise with a ‘can-do’ attitude.

Affirmations

If you want to have a good day, it’s important to fill your mind with positive thoughts. Because our thoughts affect our mood, positive thinking in the early morning can lead to a more positive day. Repeating positive affirmations can be a useful way to incorporate more uplifting thoughts into your life.

Affirmations are an easy practice which can be done either by saying them out loud, in your head, or writing them out on a piece of paper. While doing this practice, try to feel the emotions of your affirmations. For example, if you’re repeating the affirmation “I am happy” try your best to feel the emotion of joy.

Another simple way to incorporate this practice into your day is by writing down an affirmation on a piece of paper and keeping it in your pocket. Throughout the day, take out the paper and read it a couple of times, reminding yourself of the uplifting affirmation you wrote.

Mindful Breathing

Taking some time in the morning to become more aware of your breath can be a beneficial way to incorporate peace and calm into your life.

Living in such a fast-paced world can make it difficult for us to be aware of our breath, which can often cause us to take it for granted. However, it’s important to pay attention to our breath and all the wonderful things it does. Not only does it connect us back to the present moment, but it can also help us to feel a deeper appreciation for life, leading to more peaceful and positive feelings.

Mindful breathing can also help you to release fear and anxiety, allowing more ease and calm as you go throughout your daily activities.

Take a Walk

Going out into nature is a great way to start your day. Being connected to the earth can help you to be more grounded and more aware of yourself and life in general. Just going for a short walk can get you feeling more upbeat, helping to renew your energy and release any negativity which may still be lingering from the day before.

Being out in nature can also help to remind you of the vastness of the world, and may help you come to the realization that your problems might not be as large and overwhelming as you had initially thought.

Going for a morning walk can help to put you in a more optimistic mood, bringing more positive energy throughout your day.

Setting intentions

Setting uplifting intentions first thing in the morning can be a great practice to experience a more positive day. When you set out the intention to have a great day, you’ll find yourself becoming more aware of the positive aspects of your life.

Whether it’s noticing happy people who you come in contact with or becoming more aware of uplifting situations throughout your day, the more you look for the joy in life, the more you’re sure to find!

Morning intentions can be simple and done in a matter of moments. Simply take a few minutes to think of how you’d like your day to go.

Some positive morning intentions may include:

  • I intend to have a good day.
  • I intend to feel happy and positive as I go throughout my daily activities.
  • I intend to see the positive side of life.
  • I intend to be more aware of happiness.
  • I intend to be more aware of the positive situations and people I come in contact with throughout my day.

Gratitude

Much like affirmations, gratitude can be done either in your head or by writing on a piece of paper. This practice is an effective way to begin your day on a positive note and can be quick and easy to incorporate into your life.

Gratitude is a powerful emotion which can help you to become more aware of all the gifts and blessings in your life. As you begin to feel more gratitude, you’ll find yourself feeling more joyful and aligned with life.

If you have a strong sense of gratitude for life, when difficulties and challenges appear throughout your day, you may find yourself being able to stay in a more positive state, no longer allowing these problems to completely drag you down into a space of negativity.

Visualization

Visualization is another powerful tool to start your day off in a positive manner. This is a practice that can be done at any time of the day but is most effective when you first wake up. It can be useful to visualize how you wish your day to go which can attract more positive situations into your life.

Also, if you have an event or situation that you’re worried or anxious about, visualizing yourself doing well can bring a more powerful sense of ease and calm into your day, as well as a greater possibility of things turning out well.

Visualizing can be done easily, either by imagining how you want your day to go, or simply by holding a positive image in your mind, and can be done nearly anywhere, taking up very little time.

Conclusion

Morning is one of the best times to incorporate positive practices in order to begin your day on an uplifting note. This feel-good energy can be carried throughout your day, helping you see life from a more positive perspective.

With a variety of simple and easy ways to bring positive energy into your life, morning practices can be done in a matter of minutes, greatly impacting how you feel as you go throughout the rest of your day.
